DEFTONES: New Single To Go For Radio Adds Next Week
April 10, 2003The first single from DEFTONES' forthcoming self-titled effort, "Minerva", is set to arrive on Tuesday (April 15) at U.S. radio outlets for airplay consideration. The album, which was produced by the band with longtime collaborator Terry Date (PANTERA, LIMP BIZKIT),is due on May 20 Maverick/Warner Bros. Records. As previously reported, album cut "Lucky You" will also appear on the soundtrack to "Matrix Reloaded", due May 6 from Maverick.
DEFTONES' last album, 2000's "White Pony" debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.06 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The single "Change (In the House of Flies)" peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks airplay chart, while "Digital Bath" reached No. 16 on the same tally.
Last week, DEFTONES unveiled plans to play a series of U.S. club shows in May that will be announced the day before each performance. A host of June dates are also in the works, leading up to the group's appearance on the Summer Sanitarium tour with METALLICA, LIMP BIZKIT, LINKIN PARK and MUDVAYNE.
